The Gift Edit
The Best Gifts for Him
Things worth giving — and that he’ll actually want to keep.
By SaveBoard · Updated

A little thought goes a long way
The best gifts tend to start with the person, rather than the occasion. What does he reach for every day? What has he worn out, kept meaning to replace, or quietly admired? This first Gift Edit brings together the things on our Gifts For Him board: useful upgrades, objects with character and a few substantial luxuries. There are things for a desk, a weekend away, a winter wardrobe and an evening with nothing planned. Some call for knowing his size; others simply ask that you know his taste. Pick the one that feels like him, rather than the one that looks most like a present.
Prices were checked on 21 September 2026. US prices are marked in dollars; delivery, taxes and availability vary by destination. Where a price could not be verified, check the retailer for details.

Saint Laurent Logo-Print Upcycled Cross-Grain Leather Cardholder
A cardholder is a good place to spend on something he'll handle every day. This black cross-grain leather version keeps the decoration to a small gold signature, so the appeal is in the texture and proportions. We'd give it to someone whose pockets could do with a little less bulk.
MR PORTER · £210

Creed Iris Debonair — 50 ml
Creed builds Iris Debonair around lavender and iris, with bergamot and a little spice in the mix. We'd consider it for someone already drawn to aromatic, floral fragrances, rather than treating scent as a safe bet for everyone. The bottle has enough presence to make the unwrapping feel like an occasion.
Creed · £220
Product photography: CreedOmega De Ville Master Chronometer — 434.13.40.20.03.001
A blue dial and dark leather strap give this De Ville a quieter character than a sports watch. Subdial lists this particular 2025 example with its original box and papers, in a 40 mm steel case. It's a substantial, personal present; the appeal is in choosing a watch that feels like him. This is an individual pre-owned listing, so availability matters.
Subdial · £3,350
Product photography: Subdial
Persol PO3272S Sunglasses
Black acetate, dark grey polarised crystal lenses and a frame that makes its point without a large logo. These Persols would suit someone who likes a defined silhouette and keeps the rest of his wardrobe simple. Check the 53–20 sizing against a pair he already wears before committing.
Persol · £302

NN.07 2 cm Dual 90025 Suede Belt
A narrow brown suede belt can make familiar jeans and trousers feel more considered. The Dual's rounded metal buckle keeps the shape simple, while the brushed leather adds texture. We'd choose it for the person who notices the small details; just check his belt size first.
MR PORTER · £100
Product photography: MR PORTERASOS DESIGN Canvas Holdall with Contrast Brown Straps
Khaki canvas and dark brown straps give this holdall an appealingly unfussy look. At 44 cm wide, it makes sense for a light overnight stay or carrying the day's extra things. The zip closure is a useful detail, and the price leaves room to put something small inside it.
ASOS · £25.99

COS Merino Wool V-Neck Jumper
The deep midnight colour is the attraction here: dark enough to work with almost everything, with more softness than stark black. COS uses heavyweight merino and adds structure at the shoulders and elbows. We'd wear this over a white T-shirt or an open-collar shirt, which makes it a useful gift for either sort of dresser.
COS · £169

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)
For the person who spends half his week on trains, over-ear noise-cancelling headphones are a gift with an obvious job. Bose adds personalised sound calibration and quotes up to 30 hours of listening with Immersive Audio switched off. The black pair keeps things understated, whether they're on a desk or around his neck.
Bose · £399.95
Product photography: Bose
paper republic grand voyageur Leather Journal — Pocket
The pleasure of this journal is that the leather cover stays while the paper changes. Made in Vienna from Italian vegetable-tanned leather, the pocket version is small enough to carry rather than leave waiting on a desk. We'd give it to someone who still thinks best with a pen in hand.
paper republic · £45

Le Labo Shaving Cream
A handsome aluminium tube makes an ordinary bathroom essential feel worth giving. Le Labo's 120 ml shaving cream contains sage, coconut oil and chamomile extract, with a fragrance built around bergamot and lavender. We'd choose it for someone who enjoys taking a little time over his shave.
Le Labo · US store · USD 48

Maison Margiela Replica Sneakers — Blue Night
The Replica's low profile and honey-coloured sole make a restrained change from a bulky trainer. This Blue Night pair combines nappa leather and suede, with the house's four stitches at the back. We'd give them to someone whose everyday uniform is already well worked out, once his size is certain.
Maison Margiela

Bose SoundLink Micro Portable Speaker (2nd Gen)
Small enough to carry in one hand, this is the speaker for someone who moves his music between the kitchen, garden and weekend bag. Bose gives it an IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating and quotes up to 12 hours of battery life. The compact shape is the point: a useful extra without another large object to accommodate.
Bose · £119.95

Diptyque Baies Classic Candle
Baies pairs blackcurrant with rose rather than leaning on the woody notes often assigned to men's gifts. We'd give the 190 g candle to someone who cares about how a room feels as much as how it looks. The familiar oval label is handsome enough to leave on the mantelpiece between evenings in.
Diptyque · £63
Product photography: Diptyque
Le Labo Santal 26 Small Home Diffuser
The reclaimed redwood base and glass bulb make this diffuser interesting before it is switched on. Le Labo uses a nebuliser to disperse the fragrance oil without heating or diluting it, and includes Santal 26 oil with the set. We'd reserve this for someone who already enjoys home fragrance and would appreciate the object as much as the scent.

A generous screen is an unusually useful present for someone whose work or creative projects keep him at a desk. Studio Display combines a 27-inch 5K screen with a camera, microphones and speakers in a clean aluminium frame. This is one to discuss rather than spring as a surprise: his computer, desk space and preferred stand all matter.
Apple · From £1,499

Kähler Character Sculpture — The Reflective One
Malene Bjelke's seated figure has a thoughtful posture and an unglazed stoneware surface that asks for a closer look. It would sit well beside books or on a desk without needing much space. We'd give it to someone who enjoys objects with a little personality, rather than another useful thing he already owns.
Nordic Nest · £61.99
Product photography: Nordic Nest
Sonos Beam (Gen 2)
At just over 65 cm wide, the Beam is a relatively discreet addition beneath a television. It supports Dolby Atmos and has a speech-enhancement setting for dialogue. We'd consider it for the person who cares about film nights but doesn't want a room full of speakers; check his TV's connections before buying.
Sonos · £449

UNO × Blvck Playing Cards
Blvck gives UNO a dark graphic treatment while keeping colour where the game needs it. The extra Black Out card adds a race to slap the table, so the restrained packaging doesn't mean a restrained evening. Currently available for pre-order, with the retailer estimating mid-October shipping: allow for that if the occasion is close.
Blvck Paris · £25

A Man & His Watch: Iconic Watches and Stories from the Men Who Wore Them
Hranek's book pairs photographs of 76 watches with stories about the people who wore them. That gives it something to offer beyond specifications and collecting: these are objects tied to memories, achievements and relationships. We'd give the hardcover to a watch enthusiast, or to someone who likes understanding why people keep particular things.
Matt Hranek · Amazon · £25.45

Derek Rose Triton Cotton Velour Bathrobe
A proper bathrobe is a small luxury with a very ordinary place in the week. The navy Triton uses cotton velour outside and looped towelling inside, with a shawl collar, tie belt and two pockets. We'd choose it for someone whose current robe has long since stopped feeling like a treat.
Derek Rose · £170

Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Kettle
A narrow spout and adjustable temperature make the Stagg EKG worth considering for someone who enjoys the process of making coffee. Its compact, sculptural shape is another reason to leave it on the counter. The saved US listing now offers several versions and specifies 110–120 V; confirm the exact edition and electrical compatibility before ordering.

Lemaire Belted Nubuck Leather Tote Bag
The strap running beneath this tote gives a simple bag an unusually considered shape. Brown nubuck and a gently slouching body keep it from looking too formal, while the adjustable shoulder strap lets it sit where he wants it. We'd choose it for someone who carries a tote everywhere and would appreciate a more substantial version.
MR PORTER · £1,095

Serapian Mosaico-Detailed Leather Weekend Bag
Serapian's woven Mosaico trim gives this brown leather weekender its character without covering it in decoration. The suede-lined interior and adjustable shoulder strap make the details feel considered, too. This is a generous gift for someone who travels often and would enjoy choosing one handsome bag for those short trips.
MR PORTER · £2,030

Aesop Shampoo
Sometimes a good present is simply a better version of something already in use. Aesop's shampoo brings bergamot, frankincense and cedar notes to the daily wash, in a bottle that looks at home on an uncluttered bathroom shelf. We'd give it to an existing Aesop admirer; the pictured 500 ml bottle is the full-sized option.
Aesop · £41
Product photography: Aesop
Aesop Conditioner
The matching conditioner makes the shampoo feel like a considered set rather than a solitary replacement bottle. Its cream formulation shares the same citrus and woody fragrance notes. A useful companion for someone who already makes room for both steps in his routine; the price here is for the pictured 500 ml size.

NN.07 Him Gloves 80048 — Deep Truffle
Dark brown leather gloves can finish a winter coat as neatly as a good pair of shoes finishes trousers. NN.07 uses goat leather with a wool-blend lining and keeps the panel stitching simple. We'd choose these for someone who walks to work, checking his glove size rather than guessing.
NN.07 · £100
Product photography: NN.07
NN.07 David 30049 T-Shirt — White
A white T-shirt earns its place through cut and fabric rather than novelty. The David has a relaxed fit, combed organic cotton jersey and a peached finish. We'd give it to someone who wears white tees constantly and would welcome another considered version of his daily staple.
NN.07 · £60
Product photography: NN.07
NN.07 Otis 1843 Jeans — Raw Indigo
Straight legs and a relaxed fit give these raw-indigo jeans an easy shape without looking exaggerated. The denim is midweight organic cotton, with familiar five-pocket construction. A strong choice for someone whose jeans are central to his wardrobe, provided you know both his waist and preferred length.
NN.07 · £175
Product photography: NN.07
Morjas The Chelsea Boot — Black Calf
The uninterrupted calf-leather upper gives these Chelsea boots a particularly clean profile. Underneath, Morjas pairs Goodyear-welted construction with a studded rubber sole. We'd choose them for someone who moves between jeans and smarter trousers; they're substantial enough to feel like a proper present without asking him to change how he dresses.
Morjas · £370

Aspinal of London Medium Soft Tidy Tray
Keys, a watch and loose change all benefit from having somewhere to land. This black pebbled-leather tray has popper corners that let it fold flat for travelling. We'd put it on a bedside table or by the front door: a modest object that makes a daily habit feel a little more orderly.
Aspinal of London

The Weeknd — Starboy 2LP
An album he already returns to is a more personal present than another piece of listening equipment. This two-LP edition gives Starboy a place in the room, not just on a playlist. We'd give it to a Weeknd listener with a turntable and leave choosing the first side to him.
Island Records · £34.99
Product photography: Island Records
Printworks The Art of Chess
Wooden pieces, a reflective board and a black-and-silver box make this chess set feel as considered closed as it does mid-game. We'd choose it for someone who would actually keep a board within reach. The best part of the gift may be the suggestion that you stay for a game.
Printworks · £69
Product photography: Printworks
Eredi Zucca Deer Horn Fusion Razor
The deer-horn handle makes this a distinctive object, while the head takes familiar interchangeable Fusion blades. Eredi Zucca makes the handle in Italy and finishes the base with a brass medallion. We'd give it to an established wet shaver who would appreciate the material and already knows the blade system he prefers.
Eredi Zucca · £179
Product photography: Eredi Zucca
Aspinal of London Reporter Wash Bag — Dark Navy Pebble
Dark navy pebbled leather gives this wash bag a quieter look than bright hardware or a conspicuous logo. An internal zipped pocket helps keep the smaller things separate, and a hanging loop is useful in a cramped bathroom. We'd choose it for a frequent traveller; the UK retailer currently marks this colour for pre-order, so confirm delivery before gifting.
Aspinal of London · £185
Product photography: Aspinal of London
Aimé Leon Dore Pigment Dyed Logo Hat — Pine Grove
Green cotton twill and a contrasting brown brim make this cap feel more considered than a last-minute accessory. The unstructured shape and adjustable brass-buckle strap keep it easy to wear. We'd give it to someone who already reaches for a cap, and let the colour do the work.
